Day 1

Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport under your own arrangements. You will be met by an Falcon-Safari.com representative who will meet you off your flight and assist you to the next check in point. Fly from OR Tambo International Airport to Hoedspruit Airport.

Road transfer from Hoedspruit Airport to the Umhlametsi Private Nature Reserve. Check into Kwenga Safari Lodge where there will be time for some cool beverages and freshening up before your first afternoon/evening game drive. 

"Umhlametsi"...meaning 'one days water' is a place where time stops and life begins....

Nestled in the luxurious natural settings of the Limpopo Province, the Kwenga Safari Lodge is located within the Umhlametsi Private Nature Reserve which in turn is bordered by the World famous Kruger National Park. The two non-perennial rivers that majestically meander through the area attracts a diverse variety of birds and wildlife, including Lion, White Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard, Cheetah and other Africa game. Visitors are exposed to the magnificent views of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains from the reserves' natural vantage points - perfect for romantic sundowners.

A visit to Kwenga Safari Lodge is an experience that will touch your very being. Guests are exposed to the true Africa; they quickly adapt to the mystical rhythm of the Bush hence the quotation by a famous personality "a place where time stops and life begins..."

Kwenga Lodge is equipped with 8 luxury thatched chalets each beautifully appointed with ethic furnishings, draped in romantic fabrics that bring about an atmosphere that is truly African.

The beds are covered in subtle Percale cotton sheeting and finished with ultra luxurious Mohair blankets, giving guests lustful comfort. Mosquito nets allow for a restful sleep while the overhead fans whisper gently to keep the pure African air circulating evenly in the room.

Generous bath sheets are provided in the en-suite bathrooms to complete the Safari Experience...

Day 2

Your full day on safari will be spent on game drives early in the mornings and late in the afternoon with time in-between to just relax and be spoiled by the lodge staff.  Overnight Kwenga Safari Lodge - fully inclusive basis

Day 3

Today after your morning game drive and breakfast you will check out and will be transferred via road back to the Thornybush Game Reserve. Check into Tangala Safari Lodge where there will be time for some lunch, cool beverages and freshening up before your first afternoon/evening game drive. 

Tangala is one of the last remaining authentic African experiences in South Africa that have been a legacy of the family for more than 3 generations. This intimate and exclusive private safari camp is situated in the 22 000 acre Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, a prime ecological area abounding in wildlife.

Accommodation at the camp will bring back memories of a time long forgotten. The thatched chalets have en suite bathroom facilities and paraffin lantern lighting. Tangala is authentic rustic luxury at an affordable price. The camp consist of a central dining and lounge area with full bar and a swimming pool with a deck. Five double en suite chalets with shaded veranda. Hot water is provided at all times with “donkey-boilers” (geyser). The camp is electricity free. Children catered for, 12 years and over only.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast and your morning game drive, you will be collected at Tangala Safari Lodge and transferred via road to Hazyview where you will check into Hippo Hollow Hotel.

Hippo Hollow Country Estate is set in the quiet area of Hazyview just 5 minutes drive from the Phabeni Gate of the Kruger National Park.

There is a selection of accommodation, from the River facing Chalets (family rooms, which sleep 40, to the Garden Chalets, and the Hotel-style twin rooms. Chalets and rooms are all equipped with ceiling fans and heaters, have tea/ coffee making facilities, and are en suite (with double showers).

The Estate boasts an a la carte Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and overlooks the Sabie River – home to numerous hippo families. Enjoy the variety of mouth-watering dishes and vast selection of South African wines from the cellar. There is also the Shangaan River Club, named after the traditional inhabitants of the area, where you can enjoy a traditional cultural and dining experience, which includes a hand washing ritual, face painting, hair braiding, singing and dancing by children from a local Shangaan orphanage to traditional African cuisine served buffet style from traditional cast-iron pots.

You might also want to enjoy that refreshing sun downer at the Ladies Bar and Cocktail Lounge, overlooking the River.

Relax in, and around, one of the 2 large swimming pools, set in pristine gardens, which are also home to a wonderful variety of bird-life.

There are a number of activities and excursions to enjoy, in addition to the attraction of game viewing in the Kruger National Park. You might want to take a helicopter trip over nearby waterfalls and the magnificent Blyde River Canyon, or enjoy a rafting trip on the river. There are also hiking trails, and adrenalin activities such as abseiling, kloofing, and quad-biking.

For the golfer, there are two courses only minutes away.

Day 6

Today you are free to spend the day is at leisure to explore the Panorama route at your own pace, visiting Bourke’s luck potholes, God’s Window, Mac Mac Falls, the historic town of Pilgrims Rest and maybe having the best pancakes in South Africa in Graskop. We can even arrange a Daytrip to Kruger or Swaziland for you. You also have the option of an Elephant Back Safari (These activities are not included and needs to be pre-arranged)

Day 7

Check out from Hippo Hollow this morning after breakfast and you will be transferred back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, in time for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport. From this point you will depart under your own arrangements.
