Londolozi Pioneer Camp
Over eighty years ago on this small corner of the reserve the Varty ancestors arrived after three days of hard travel by rail, wagon and on foot, pitching their tents in the late afternoon, on the banks of the Sand River where it runs crystal clear over vast granite rocks.
This is now the site of Londolozi’s Pioneer Camp, which, with only 6 suites, and 3 river-view chalets, is still the place to enjoy beauty, peace and an untouched wilderness. The suites have been carefully hidden away in a 500-year-old Riverine forest, of Matumi and African Ebony trees. The luxury accommodation is air-conditioned, and each unit has a fire-place, and en suite bathroom, with outdoor shower.
Pioneer Camp's intimate guest area provides a novel, interactive experience, as the kitchen, sitting, and dining areas are all open plan.
