Summerfields River Lodge

Summerfields River Lodge is nestled on a 100 hectare working farm (roses and macadamia nuts) in a secluded valley near Hazyview, and is only some 10 kilometres from the Kruger National Park.

The accommodation is in 12 exclusive tented suites, set under a canopy of Jackalberry and Tamboti trees, with views of the Sabie River. Each suite is name for a rose-variety, and is air-conditioned, and the bathroom boasts double vanities, luxury bath, and outdoor shower. Accommodation is also equipped with ceiling fan, safe, mini-bar, tea/ coffee making facilities, and private terrace.

Dining at Summerfields is a treat, with meals enjoyed in Summerfields Kitchen, an establishment at gourmet level. Menus are influenced by seasonal fresh produce, with chutneys and mayonnaise and bread being homemade. You might also wish to arrange a Picnic basket, when you go out on a long game drive, or when enjoying one of the many excursions in the area, such as rafting, hot air ballooning, mountain biking, hiking, golf, or general sightseeing.

You may choose to stay on the property, and enjoy a guided tour of the farm, and learn about rose production, or walk amongst the macadamia plantations. There is also the attraction of relaxing in and around the swimming pool.

A popular option is a visit to the Rose Spa, where you are pampered with aromatherapy, reflexology, massages, and a host of other treatments. Between treatments, you can enjoy fresh, tasty, and healthy meals at the pool deck.

Golf carts are available to transport guests between the restaurant, the lodge and spa. The transfer time is approximately 15 minutes.

Although the Lodge is an excellent base for self-drive arrangements, you may also choose a charter flight to the Lodge, from a regional airport close to Johannesburg, directly to the Lodge.

Regrettably, children under the age of 16 can not be accommodated at the Lodge.
